Founded in 2023, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 350 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

The Role

The Avionics Test Technician will provide dedicated hands-on support for the assembly, integration, environmental testing, and verification of avionics and electronic systems. This role will work closely with Avionics, Systems, and Environmental Test Engineering to prepare test hardware, build specialized test equipment and harnesses, execute established test procedures, and maintain laboratory readiness. A primary focus of this position will be providing reliable technician support for rack builds, specialized hardware assemblies, DAQ systems, and electrical harness fabrication to ensure engineering programs can maintain development and test schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support for test rack builds and specialized hardware assemblies, including DAQ systems.

  • Build, assemble, modify, and inspect electrical harnesses consistently and efficiently to support engineering and test schedules.

  • Assemble and integrate avionics test hardware, fixtures, instrumentation, and supporting laboratory equipment.

  • Configure and operate environmental test equipment, including HALT systems, thermal chambers, humidity chambers, and electrodynamic (ED) vibration shakers.

  • Install, configure, and verify test instrumentation, including thermocouples, accelerometers, load cells, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.

  • Configure and operate laboratory measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), electronic loads, power supplies, and related instrumentation.

  • Program and verify environmental test profiles and validate DAQ and measurement-system operation prior to test execution.

  • Set up, execute, and support established test procedures in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, specifications, and applicable standards.

  • Monitor tests, collect and review test data, document results, and promptly escalate anomalies, deviations, or equipment issues to the responsible engineer.

  • Troubleshoot test equipment, instrumentation, wiring, and setup issues as required to support test execution. Engineering-level product debugging and root-cause ownership are not required.

  • Support calibration, verification, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of laboratory and test equipment.

  • Maintain organized test areas, tooling, materials, and supplies to ensure the laboratory remains safe, efficient, and ready for use.

  • Maintain accurate test records, configuration information, build documentation, and technical reports.

  • Follow laboratory, electrical, environmental test, and test-article safety requirements at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with electrical and electromechanical assembly, including test racks, laboratory hardware, and cable/harness fabrication.

  • Ability to read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation.

  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining environmental test equipment, including thermal chambers, humidity chambers, HALT systems, and/or electrodynamic vibration systems.

  • Experience installing and verifying test instrumentation such as thermocouples, load cells, accelerometers, and DAQ systems.

  • Hands-on experience configuring laboratory measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads, power supplies, and related instrumentation.

  • Ability to execute test programs and procedures accurately and consistently while following approved documentation and engineering direction.

  • Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills, with the ability to identify and clearly communicate test anomalies or deviations.

  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of test setups, instrumentation, wiring, and laboratory equipment.

  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

  • Ability to work effectively with engineering teams in a fast-paced development and test environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting avionics, aerospace, defense, robotics, automotive, or other high-reliability electronic systems.

  • Experience building or maintaining automated test equipment and instrumentation racks.

  • Experience with custom DAQ systems, including gDAQ/mDAQ or similar hardware.

  • Familiarity with environmental qualification, reliability, or acceptance testing of electronic and electromechanical hardware.

  • Familiarity with applicable aerospace or defense environmental test standards.
